Julie Shipman is an award-winning photographer based in the Western Rockies who revels in exploring the world around her through a lens. She excels at photographing people - both portrait and action shots -- but her greatest skill is the ability to capture a fleeting moment that might not have registered with the casual observer. This aptitude applies to her formal portraiture as well as her photojournalist work, sports shoots and travel photography.
Julie loves what she does and this is evident in the expressions she captures. She feels fortunate that her vocation allows her to celebrate the beauty and emotions of those around her. She gives back generously to the community through her many photo-projects, donating time and images to groups such as The Children's Center, 100% for Kids, Immokalee Child Care Center, Rape Recovery Center, Childrens' Theatre, Ronald McDonald House, Rowland Hall - St. Mark's School and many others.
Julie lives in SLC with her 7 favorite guys - her husband (Jim), sons (Peter, Hank, & Jack), dogs (Max & Bogie) and tortoise (Mike).
